I went Hitchhiking with my friend and It was an amazing Experience.
On this blog I will share my experience and how I planned everything.

So one day my friends decided to go Hitchhiking. We created a group online to share some ideas & places.
We wanted to go to the west coast of Portugal and walk North to South.

The origin
One of our friends had done some cycling over there with his parent before and he endorsed how beautifu it was.
Unfurtunately he wasn't up for the Hitchhiking. At this the plan was for 3 people. (Although in the end only one of them came)
Another friend had done a road-trip 1 year ago with his girlfriend on a van to the west coast.

First Plan
At the begining we really had no idea about anything, my friends shared some places we could visit.
We wanted to Start at "Vila de Milfontes" all the way down to "Sagres". We live in Lisbon so we still had to decide how we were getting to the starting point.
I wanted to camp in the wild but unfurtunatelly it's illegal in Portugal.
In the end we decided that we were going to stay in campings and set up our tent. Around €7 per camping.
There are some Hostels on the way but we thought it wouldn't be as fun but as camping.
The only one that had done some trekking before was me so I wanted to at least give them some hints of what it was going to be like. I didn't want them to go if they knew they wouldn't like it.

The Routes
My friend did some research and founded some good references for the routes available online
First we were a bit doubtful about being able to walk 20km per day since almost every route was 20k+ long.
We discussed about what we should bring, my friends had two tents for two persons so that was checked, also someone had cooking gear so that was covered as well.
Now we only needed the clothes and a budget!

I created a PDF describing everything and I thought this would encourage them more to do it.
At the end we had an amazing time and we got to watch so many amazing things it was beatuful, magesting and impressive!
I would recommend anyone to do this. At some point we walked by an african safari and we say some zebras, an ostrich and even jiraffes.
